- The software I used to edit out pauses and mistakes is called Adobe Audition so I was able to record everyone individually throughout without the worry if they make mistakes, e.g taking out when you are breathing too close to the mike or due to hesitation as it could all be cut out,
- The microphone that was used is called the Shure SM58. On top of the microphone was a cover which helps that it wont detect any other sounds while I record it so it would make it sound like a radio show.
- The choice of voices that I chose for the preliminary task was picked randomly, I didn't give it much thought of the 'actors' that done the recording for me as I would leave it for my main radio show
- I experimented different types of effects with the jingle voice through Reverb Tired Echo but this method did not work because it sounded like it is coming from a big church, so I ended up using a Chorus Effect, which I thought is the sound you hear on a real radio show.
- For the press conference I used Preset to get a realistic echo effect (Small Dry Room).
- Sound effect in press conference, e.g cameras clicking and murmuring to make it sound real.I layed it on a multi task screen to find the right balance. The murmuring was like in a american court room and for camera clicking I used a variety of camera sounds.
In the beginning of the preliminary task the extract sounded dry and boring, everyone sounded the same and it did not sound like a realistic radio show. I learned how technology can be used to manipulate sound to give the listener the 'feel' of radio and a sense of being in different places and make the 'actors' sound like professional presenters.
